ACUPUNCTURE, JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY

I first saw acupuncture being done in a Chinese Temple. The monk took one look at the patient and intuitively put a few needles into each of the patients. He said he could sense where the needles were needed.

Later on, I studied with Jean-Pierre Barral, a French osteopath who is very gifted. His osteopathic treatments are very gentle, intuitive and effective. He had been curious for a long time, he wanted to know how his hands just got attracted to do a particular technique.

France Telecom studied the temperature patterns of his patients and the coloured thermogram showed that he was sensing changes in temperature and these showed up on the scanner as colour zones.

As I tend to know which acupuncture treatment zones are likely to help a patient, I think it is highly likely that I am sensing temperature differences.

The intuitive approach is supported by knowledge of acupuncture. This is a brilliant time for acupuncture, there is so much information available.

Another factor is the power of intention to make changes. This has always been part of the Chinese understanding of acupuncture. It is also backed up by modern science, ie Quantum Physics and especially Dr Rupert Sheldrake’s study of the power of intention. Visit www.sheldrake.org.

I have learned the importance of positive intention in overcoming a disabling accident which occurred a number of years ago. I am fully recovered.

Positive intention also really helped my patients to recover after they had strokes.

Positive intention works with the body’s natural ability to self-heal. One of my patients was determined to overcome lung cancer. She really took on board all my complementary medicine skills and she believed strongly that she could recover.

Acupuncture, healing and hypnotherapy helped her to go through radiotherapy and chemotherapy with no nausea, vomiting or hair loss. Her body was able to make the best use of conventional treatment. Her body healed itself with some complementary and mainstream medical help.
